Generation

Generating and Publishing a Catalog

1. Photo image (if applicable) for catalog from client/Art/Photography to Web Lab.

2. Wait for any last minute changes to catalog to be made and checked; be certain all pages are approved.

3. Generate HTML in Catalog Navigator.

4. Email Web Lab when generated.  At same time, send Word document and directions of what should be on the catalog’s front page and how it should be linked.

5. Be certain to confirm URL of new catalog with the word current in it: http://catalogs.rutgers.edu/generated/schoolname_current/index.html.

6. Provide directions for Web Lab to move older catalog to Catalog Archive page and change the URL to reflect the appropriate two-year period of that older catalog (e.g., http://catalogs.rutgers.edu/generated/schoolname-0507/index.html.) Remind lab to add the word Archived next to the word CATALOGS on the top of the front page of the catalog that you are adding to archives.

7. Proofread temporary pages created by lab; make sure bullets are there for major programs; check that all links work and that all hyperlinks are made; check school name and catalog years; check font size; proper URL naming convention used, etc.

8. Approve and launch! Alert appropriate university folks.

9. Closeout job in /FileMaker Pro. (See Closing Out)

Alerting Web Lab

Email sent to lab when catalog has been generated:

I have generated an HTML version of the School of Public Health 2018-2020 catalog in Catalog Navigator for you to move online.

This catalog will be named: http://catalogs.rutgers.edu/generated/sph_current.

I have attached the front page (the links to the catalog program sections at the top, the current students pages in the middle paragraph, and those at the bottom of the page [embedded please]) need to be made live.

Please grab the correct image from the 2017-2018 catalog for the 2018-2020 version.

The School of Public Health current catalog link on the Catalogs homepage (http://www.rutgers.edu/academics/catalogs) under Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences heading needs to link to this new current (2018-2020) catalog.

The old 2017-2018 catalog needs to have its url changed to http://catalogs.rutgers.edu/generated/sph_1718/ and to be added to the SPH archive page. On the SPH archive page (http://www.rutgers.edu/academics/catalog-archive-school-public-health), please add:

View the 2017-2018 catalog online (with a link to the old 2017-2018 catalog): http://catalogs.rutgers.edu/generated/sph_1718/).

Also on the SPH archive page in the View the Current Catalog box: change to School of Public Health 2018-2020 catalog.

Please remember to add the Google search function to the front pages of the 2018-2020 catalog.

Please let me know when you have the temp site ready for me to review and let me know if you have any questions.
