Tips for Posting a Banner for Review on Core Training
General Procedures
- If there is more than one banner design, email them to Joanne and Amy, cc’ing the project manager, so they can make a decision about which banner to post.
- Headline and teaser text should be supplied by the project manager and found on ProjTrak.
- When uploading to the core-training site, the file can be named features_Beekeeper.jpg, e.g., but when uploading to the live site, it should have the proper identifier such as NR11RikiLosiewicz9131_hp.jpg.
- Core site banners should have a suffix of _hp once they go live.
Step-by-Step Procedures
1. Login to http://core-training.rutgers.edu/login
2. Upload your banner. Content management > Create content > Photo

3. Clicking on Photo will take you to a Create Photo window. Click on the + sign.

4. Locate the banner on your computer and click open. This will put the banner in a queue until it is saved. Click Save.

5. This window shows that your photo was uploaded. Click Next step.

6. Change the name under the Image alt field to the person’s name or subject matter.
Click Done Editing.

7. Create the Home Feature as demonstrated and described in the screens below.

8. A window like this will appear when done.

9. Check the core training homepage to see how it displays.
10. Post on the ProjTrak thread that the banner is up for review with the link http://core-training.rutgers.edu. Let the project manager know if the teaser or headline is too long. Teaser should fit on two lines only.
